Production has begun on a seventh season of the Australian drama series Wentworth<\/em>, which is slated to premiere in 2019\u00a0on Foxtel’s showcase channel.<\/p>\n

Wentworth<\/em>, which debuted in 2013, is produced by FremantleMedia Australia. The show premieres in its sixth season on June 19\u00a0at 8:30 p.m. on showcase and will be available to stream on Foxtel Now.<\/p>\n

Penny Win, Foxtel\u2019s head of drama and Wentworth<\/em> executive producer, said: \u201cIt\u2019s hard to believe we are already rolling the cameras on season seven of Wentworth<\/em>. It feels like only yesterday we were reintroducing Foxtel viewers to such iconic characters like Bea Smith and \u2018The Freak\u2019 Joan Ferguson.
