The Japanese actor Kazuki Kitamura (Godzilla: Final Wars<\/em>, Kill Bill: Volumes 1 <\/em>& 2<\/em>) and Malaysian actor Bront Palarae (Halfworlds<\/em>, Satan\u2019s Slave<\/em>) will be starring in HBO Asia\u2019s new horror anthology series Folklore<\/em>.<\/p>\n

The six-part series is scheduled to premiere later this year on HBO Asia\u2019s on-air, online and on-demand platforms. Developed by HBO Asia and created by Singaporean filmmaker Eric Khoo, all six episodes will take place across multiple Asian countries, including Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, Singapore and Thailand. Each will be based on the respective country\u2019s deeply rooted superstitions and myths.<\/p>\n

Jonathan Spink, CEO of HBO Asia, said: \u201cFolklore<\/em> was created to embrace the rich culture and history that Asia has to offer. We\u2019re looking forward to telling these treasured myths and stories from Asia to audiences in the region and the rest of the world.\u201d<\/p>\n
