The series follows a bank robbery as it spirals out of control in a quiet Flemish town with police, criminals and hostages revealing unexpected agendas.<\/p>\n<p>The co-production was brokered by Dynamic Television, which also handles worldwide distribution.<\/p>\n<p>Simone Emmelius, general manager of ZDFneo, said: \u201cHaving entered the European co-production arena in 2017, we\u2019re glad to continue showing sophisticated serial entertainment with <em>De Dag<\/em>. The story is told from different perspectives, an element which is important to us, to attract our young audience.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Wolfgang Feindt, head of co-productions at ZDF, added: \u201cWe are constantly scouting for exciting new voices and innovative projects that stand out for ZDFneo&#8217;s young, internationally oriented audience. Belgium has a great talent pool and with <em>The Day<\/em>, we found another new, inspiring concept that will entertain a broad audience through its profoundly good storytelling.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe were immediately excited by <em>The Day<\/em> and the team behind it,\u201d said Tasja Abel, VP of co-productions and acquisitions at Dynamic Television. \u201cIt is very original, told by young and very talented voices and produced by two great partners. <em>The Day<\/em> takes the audience on a brilliantly thrilling ride packed with a high pace and unexpected twists and turns.
