BBC Three has ordered a second season of Jess Brittain’s psychological drama Clique<\/em>, with production set to begin in\u00a0Edinburgh in the spring.<\/p>\n

Distributed worldwide by all3media international, the show again has U.S. outlet Pop as a co-production partner. The 6×45-minute series is produced by Balloon Entertainment with\u00a0BBC Studios. While season one saw its protagonist Holly (Synnove Karlsen) drawn to a group of troubled young women, the second will focus on her encounters with a set of charismatic young men.<\/p>\n

Brittain, creator, writer and executive producer, noted, \u201cI\u2019m so excited to return to Holly\u2019s intense, loyal and dangerous world. Clique<\/em> is a show with female friendship as its heart, but a new clique of unknowable young men is definitely taking us to some new and interesting places.\u201d<\/p>\n

Piers Wenger, controller of BBC Drama, noted, \u201cJess’s forensic exploration of female friendship and ambition struck a huge chord with the BBC Three audience in series one and we were all excited to see her go further in series two as she shifts focus from young women to a clique of young men.\u201d<\/p>\n
