{"id":8785,"date":"2018-01-02T09:44:02","date_gmt":"2018-01-02T14:44:02","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/worldscreen.com\/tvdrama\/ryan-murphys-pose-lands-series-order-fx\/"},"modified":"2018-01-02T13:25:26","modified_gmt":"2018-01-02T18:25:26","slug":"ryan-murphys-pose-lands-series-order-at-fx","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/worldscreen.com\/tvdrama\/ryan-murphys-pose-lands-series-order-at-fx\/","title":{"rendered":"Ryan Murphy&#8217;s Pose Lands Series Order at FX"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>FX has given a series order to\u00a0<em>Pose<\/em>, a new dance musical from Ryan Murphy, Nina Jacobson, Brad Simpson and Brad Falchuk.<\/p>\n<p>Set in the 1980s, <em>Pose<\/em>\u00a0looks at the juxtaposition of several segments of life and society in New York: the rise of the luxury Trump-era universe, the downtown social and literary scene and the ball culture world.\u00a0The show was written by co-creators and executive producers Murphy, Falchuk and Steven Canals, with Murphy directing the first two episodes.<\/p>\n<p>FX has ordered eight episodes for season one, which is scheduled to begin production in February in New York and premiere on FX in the summer of 2018. <em>Pose<\/em>\u00a0is set to feature the largest cast of transgender actors in series regular roles and the largest recurring LGBTQ cast ever for a scripted television series.<\/p>\n<p>The series is produced by Fox 21 Television Studios and FX Productions.<\/p>\n<p>Murphy said, &#8220;I am thrilled to join forces with John Landgraf and FX Networks and FXP and Dana Walden, Gary Newman and Fox 21 Television Studios to present what I think is a game changer of a show, which at its heart is an uplifting series about the universal quest for identity, family and respect. Along with being a dance musical and an affirming look at American life in the 1980s, I&#8217;m so proud that\u00a0<em>Pose<\/em>\u00a0and FX has made history right from the beginning by featuring the most trans series regular actors ever in an American television production. Additionally, the first season\u00a0<em>Pose<\/em>\u00a0will feature 50-plus LGBTQ characters\u2014a record in American television history.
