Netflix has slated its second Colombian original series, Siempre Bruja<\/em>, which will be produced by Caracol Television.<\/p>\n

Inspired by the novel Yo, Bruja<\/em> by Isidora Chac\u00f3n, the young adult drama series is slated to begin production summer 2018 with Dago Garc\u00eda (Pedro el escamoso<\/em>, El Paseo<\/em>) as executive producer. The story will follow 19-year-old Carmen, a Colombian slave and witch from the 17th century who, with the help of a wizard, travels in time to escape being burned at the stake. She finds herself in present-day Cartagena starting a new life.<\/p>\n

The 10×1-hour drama, shot in 4K, will be directed by Liliana Bocanegra (La Esclava Blanca<\/em>, Made in Cartagena<\/em>, Celia<\/em>) and Mateo Stivelberg (La Esclava Blanca<\/em>, La Rectora<\/em>). Ana Maria Parra (Cuando Vivas Conmigo<\/em>, La Nocturna<\/em>) will be head writer.<\/p>\n
