{"id":8664,"date":"2017-11-28T08:00:36","date_gmt":"2017-11-28T13:00:36","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/worldscreen.com\/tvdrama\/sky-vision-lands-icelandic-crime-drama\/"},"modified":"2017-11-28T13:43:41","modified_gmt":"2017-11-28T18:43:41","slug":"sky-vision-lands-icelandic-crime-drama","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/worldscreen.com\/tvdrama\/sky-vision-lands-icelandic-crime-drama\/","title":{"rendered":"Sky Vision Lands Icelandic Crime Drama"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Sky Vision has picked up the distribution rights to <em>The Flatey Enigma<\/em>, a crime drama from Iceland&#8217;s Sagafilm and Reykjavik Films.<\/p>\n<p>The &#8217;70s-set four-part series is adapted from the book series by Viktor Arnar Ingolfsson and produced for R\u00daV as well as Scandi pubcasters DR, SVT, YLE and NRK.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSky Vision is known to take on ambitious and grand projects and the fact that <em>Flateyjarg\u00e1ta<\/em>\u00a0[<em>The Flatey Enigma<\/em>]\u00a0is among them proves that we have a strong series that the market is excited about and we are\u00a0happy to bring this grasping story to the screen,\u201d said Hilmar Sigur\u00f0sson, the CEO of Sagafilm.<\/p>\n<p>Moreyba Bidessie, scripted acquisitions manager at Sky Vision, added, \u201dWe\u2019re very excited to have secured the distribution rights for this wonderful project. <em>The Flatey Enigma<\/em> is a compelling story that draws viewers into an estranged daughter who must exonerate herself\u2014proving her innocence\u2014and is forced to confront her deepest fears. We know international audiences love Nordic drama and I\u2019m sure this will be a success for Sky Vision and Sagafilm.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The series, which has secured financing from the Icelandic Film Fund and Creative Media, is being directed by Bj\u00f6rn B. Bj\u00f6rnsson, based on a script by Margr\u00e9t \u00d6rn\u00f3lfsd\u00f3ttir.
