It is loosely inspired by a true story, the baby squillo scandal. The series follows a group of Parioli teenagers in their search for identity and independence against the backdrop of forbidden love, family pressures and shared secrets. The eight-episode drama is produced by Fabula Pictures, and production is scheduled to begin in 2018.<\/p>\n<p>The new Italian original follows the global launch of\u00a0<em>Suburra, the series<\/em>\u00a0and the announcement of the\u00a0<em>Juventus FC<\/em>\u00a0docuseries.<\/p>\n<p>Erik Barmack, VP of international originals at Netflix, said: \u201cWe are proud to continue to invest in original content in Italy, and <em>Baby<\/em> is representative of the new, edgy programming from talented producers that we cherish. We couldn\u2019t be more excited to start work on this show.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Nicola De Angelis, executive producer at Fabula Pictures, added:\u00a0\u201cWe are very excited to work with Netflix in bringing new voices and stories from Italy to a global audience.
