{"id":8295,"date":"2017-09-26T08:52:21","date_gmt":"2017-09-26T12:52:21","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/worldscreen.com\/tvdrama\/event-series-das-boot-adds-cast\/"},"modified":"2017-09-26T11:56:42","modified_gmt":"2017-09-26T15:56:42","slug":"event-series-das-boot-adds-to-cast","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/worldscreen.com\/tvdrama\/event-series-das-boot-adds-to-cast\/","title":{"rendered":"Event Series Das Boot Adds to Cast"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>New casting details have been revealed for the Bavaria Fernsehproduktion, Sky Deutschland and Sonar Entertainment co-production <em>Das Boot<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>The series has added Tom Wlaschiha (<em>Game of Thrones<\/em>), Vincent Kartheiser (<em>Mad Men<\/em>), James D\u2019Arcy (<em>Marvel&#8217;s Agent Carter<\/em>) and Thierry Fr\u00e9mont (<em>Juste un regard<\/em>) to the lineup. The drama is shooting in Prague, La Rochelle, Malta and Munich. The eight-episode event series is inspired by the Oscar- and Golden Globe-nominated masterpiece by Wolfgang Petersen and Lothar-G\u00fcnther Buchheim\u2019s best-selling novel of the same name.<\/p>\n<p><em>Das Boot<\/em> will premiere end of 2018 in Sky territories Germany, Austria, Italy, U.K. and Ireland. Co-production partner Sonar Entertainment will handle international distribution in the rest of the world.<\/p>\n<p>Moritz Polter, Oliver Vogel and Jan S. Kaiser, executive producers for Bavaria Fernsehproduktion, commented, \u201cWe are thrilled to announce more stellar additions to the cast lineup. The production team has worked very hard to create a real and authentic take on 1942 to highlight the harsh truth of warfare and we feel that this will bring depth and complexity to their characters. We welcome Tom, Vincent, James and Thierry on set of <em>Das Boot<\/em>.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Elke Walthelm, the executive VP of programming at Sky Deutschland, added: \u201cI am thrilled that we were able to commence shooting for our next Sky original production. In Tom Wlaschiha we see an amazing actor join the cast who has achieved international acclaim and who is well-known to our Sky audience from his role on <em>Game of Thrones<\/em>.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThese latest casting announcements strengthen even further the tremendous global appeal of <em>Das Boot<\/em>,\u201d said Jenna Santoianni, the executive VP of television series at Sonar Entertainment. \u201cThe talented actors in this production come from a cross-section of nations and cultures and the immediacy and intensity they bring to their characters is genuine and unaffected.
