Amazon Prime Video has secured a deal to serve as the exclusive U.S. premium subscription home for CBS’s upcoming summer series Salvation<\/em>.<\/p>\n

The show, about a tech superstar and an MIT grad student who alert the Pentagon to an asteroid that is on a collision course with Earth, premieres on CBS July 12. Amazon Prime subscribers will be able to stream and download episodes four days after the initial telecast. The deal for Salvation<\/em> mirrors CBS’s pacts with Amazon for previous summer event series Under the Dome<\/em> and Extant<\/em>.<\/p>\n

“The CBS\/Amazon relationship for original summer programming has been very successful, and we’re excited to build on it with\u00a0Salvation<\/em>,” said Scott Koondel, chief corporate licensing officer at CBS Corporation. “It continues to be a great business model for year-round programming on the network, as well as exclusive content for Amazon Video subscribers.”<\/p>\n

“Prime members have enjoyed streaming entertaining CBS summer series like Under the Dome<\/em>\u00a0and Extant<\/em> only four days after their broadcast on CBS,” said Brad Beale, Amazon’s VP of worldwide television licensing. “We are excited to add CBS’ new series\u00a0Salvation<\/em> to Prime Video, giving customers even more great content to watch this summer.”<\/p>\n
