FX Australia has commissioned its first homegrown original series, Mr Inbetween<\/em>.<\/p>\n

The 6×30-minute drama will be directed by Nash Edgerton, making his debut as a TV series director, and co-produced by Jungle (Here Come the Habibs<\/em>) and Blue-Tongue Films (The Gift<\/em>). The series is written by Scott Ryan and is based on his critically acclaimed feature film The Magician<\/em>. The story follows a charismatic yet volatile hitman who must navigate his chilling business while also maintaining friendships, parental responsibilities and a fledgling romance.<\/p>\n

Slated to broadcast on FX in 2018, Mr Inbetween<\/em> will sit alongside such hits as The Walking Dead<\/em>, Fear the Walking Dead<\/em> and Legion<\/em>. Casting will be announced soon and production will begin in Sydney mid-July 2017. The series is financed with the assistance of Screen Australia, as part of its multiplatform drama program, as well as Screen NSW.<\/p>\n

Edgerton commented: \u201cI couldn\u2019t be more excited about sharing with the world more of Scott Ryan\u2019s dangerously fun character, Ray Shoesmith, with the help of FX, Jungle and producer Michele Bennett.\u201d<\/p>\n
