DRG has signed an exclusive distribution deal with the boutique drama indie Synchronicity Films.<\/p>\n
Synchronicity is owned and run by creative director and managing director Claire Mundell, a former executive producer at BBC Drama and head of CBBC Scotland. The company’s development slate includes The Cry<\/em>, a six-part series based on Helen Fitzgerald\u2019s best-selling book of the same name. The Cry<\/em>, which has been in development with BBC Drama, is a psychological thriller that plays upon the deepest fears of parents, telling the story of what happens when a baby goes missing in a sleepy Australian holiday town. Jacquelin Perske (The Secret Life of Us<\/em>, Spirited<\/em>) has adapted the book.<\/p>\n As part of the two-year deal, DRG will acquire full distribution rights, outside of commissioning broadcaster arrangements, for all of Synchronicity Films\u2019 television drama productions.<\/p>\n Noel Hedges, the executive VP of content and acquisitions at DRG, commented: \u201cClaire and her team have established Synchronicity as an exciting and ambitious creative haven for writers and talent in the U.K. and U.S. They have superb relationships throughout the scripted world and as one can see from their slate, they have a keen eye for spotting great stories for the screen.
