The <em>New York Times<\/em> best-selling books, which have been translated into more than 20 languages, also spawned a video-game franchise. Sapkowski will serve as a creative consultant on the series.<\/p>\n<p>Sean Daniel (<em>The Mummy<\/em> franchise, <em>The Expanse<\/em>) and Jason Brown (<em>The Expanse<\/em>), partners at the Sean Daniel Company, are executive producers, along with Tomek Baginski (<em>The Cathedral<\/em>, <em>The Fallen Art<\/em>, <em>Ambition<\/em>) and Jarek Sawko (<em>The Fallen Art<\/em>, <em>Another Day of Life<\/em>) from Platige Image, the Polish production and visual effects company.<\/p>\n<p>\u201c<em>The Witcher<\/em> stories follow an unconventional family that comes together to fight for truth in a dangerous world,\u201d said Daniel and Brown. \u201cThe characters are original, funny and constantly surprising and we can\u2019t wait to bring them to life at Netflix, the perfect home for innovative storytelling.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Added Baginski and Sawko: &#8220;There is a moral and intellectual depth in these books which goes beyond genre. It is a story about today and today\u2019s challenges, hidden under a fantasy cover.
