IM Global Television has aligned with the U.K. games developer and publisher Rebellion to bring the Mega-City world of Judge Dredd to TV.<\/p>\n

The series will be based on the character from the British comic book 2000 AD<\/em>, which celebrates its 40th anniversary this year. Judge Dredd: Mega-City One<\/em> will be an ensemble drama, set in the 22nd century, that follows a team of Judges\u2014futuristic cops invested with the power to be judge, jury and executioner\u2014as they encounter the challenges of a world in which East Coast cities have merged into a giant megalopolis.<\/p>\n

IM Global Television President Mark Stern will be executive producing the series, along with IM Global Television CEO Stuart Ford, Rebellion Founders Jason and Chris Kingsley, who executive produced the 2012 feature film adaptation Dredd<\/em>, which was co-financed by Reliance Entertainment and IM Global.<\/p>\n

Stern said, \u201cThis is one of those seminal sci-fi properties that seems to only become more relevant with age. Not only is it a rich world with biting social commentary, but it\u2019s also fun as hell! As a fan of the comics and both films, it\u2019s a dream come true to be able to work with Jason and Chris in adapting this for television.\u201d<\/p>\n

Jason and Chris Kingsley said: \u201cWe\u2019re very excited to be beginning the journey to get more of Judge Dredd\u2019s Mega-City One on the television screen.
