Goyer"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>IM Global Television is working with Eliza Dushku\u2019s Boston Diva Productions and David S. Goyer\u2019s Phantom Four on <em>The Black Company<\/em>, based on Glen Cook\u2019s fantasy book series.<\/p>\n<p>Boston Diva Productions optioned the ten-book action fantasy series, as well as the forthcoming book, Port of Shadows. Dushku (<em>Bull<\/em>, <em>Buffy the Vampire Slayer<\/em>) will star in the series in the role of the dark sorceress known as \u201cThe Lady.\u201d Under IM Global Television\u2019s first-look deal, Goyer (Christopher Nolan\u2019s <em>Batman<\/em> films, <em>Da Vinci\u2019s Demons<\/em>, <em>Flash Forward<\/em>) will executive produce along with Kevin Turen (<em>Birth of a Nation<\/em>,<em> All Is Lost<\/em>, <em>Arbitrage<\/em>).<\/p>\n<p>Also on board as executive producers, through their Boston Diva company, are Dushku, Nate Dushku and Ami Lourie, along with Sam Maydew (<em>Ghetto Klown<\/em>) of Silver Lining Entertainment. The series follows the exploits of the Black Company, an elite mercenary unit\u00a0that carries out the often nefarious deeds of the highest bidder across a Tolkeinesque landscape.<\/p>\n<p>Mark Stern, IM Global Television&#8217;s president, said, \u201cGlen Cook&#8217;s books turn the traditional fantasy adventure tropes on their ear with wry, dimensional characters and a modern sensibility. We&#8217;re excited to explore this intricate and exciting world for television with David and Kevin along with Eliza, Nate, Ami and Sam.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Dushku added, \u201c<em>The Black Company<\/em> is vast in scope yet remains fundamentally relevant through the morally ambiguous choices it presents at every turn.
