The event series will air during the 2017-18 season. Production is set to begin this summer.<\/p>\n<p><em>The X-Files<\/em> originally premiered in September 1993 and had an initial nine-season run. In 2016, the show was brought back as an event series.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Iconic characters, rich storytelling, bold creators\u2014these are the hallmarks of great TV shows.
