CANNES: The story in Surviving Escobar, Alias JJ<\/em>, on offer from Caracol Television, spotlights John Jairo Vel\u00e1squez (alias JJ) after he became the last survivor of the Medell\u00edn cartel.<\/p>\n

Prior to it being developed, the series was presold to Netflix, Telemundo for the U.S. Hispanic market and WAPA for Puerto Rico, \u201cwhich shows the confidence that clients have in our stories and production values,\u201d says Paloma Garcia, Caracol Television\u2019s sales executive for Western Europe and Africa.<\/p>\n

The company is also showcasing A Carnival Affair<\/em> and Pursuit of a Dream<\/em>. The latter centers on Consuelo Ara\u00fajo, a woman who challenges Colombian society to make the music of her country known to the world.<\/p>\n
