{"id":7294,"date":"2017-02-10T10:38:44","date_gmt":"2017-02-10T15:38:44","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/worldscreen.com\/tvdrama\/syfy-renews-channel-zero-for-two-more-installments\/"},"modified":"2017-02-10T13:42:56","modified_gmt":"2017-02-10T18:42:56","slug":"syfy-renews-channel-zero-for-two-more-installments","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/worldscreen.com\/tvdrama\/syfy-renews-channel-zero-for-two-more-installments\/","title":{"rendered":"Syfy Orders Channel Zero for Two More Installments"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>UNIVERSAL CITY: Syfy has ordered two additional installments of the horror anthology series <em>Channel Zero<\/em> from Universal Cable Productions (UCP).<\/p>\n<p>Each installment of the <em>Channel Zero<\/em> anthology is based on a &#8220;creepypasta,&#8221; which are user-generated horror stories published online. <em>Candle Cove<\/em>, the first in the anthology, was about a man&#8217;s obsessive recollection of a mysterious children&#8217;s television program from the 1980s. The second installment, <em>No-End House<\/em>, will debut on Syfy in October. It&#8217;s about a young woman who, along with her friends, visits a bizarre house of horrors consisting of a series of increasingly disturbing rooms. The new order will see third and fourth runs.<\/p>\n<p>In addition, UCP has signed an overall deal with the series&#8217; executive producer Nick Antosca (<em>Hannibal<\/em>, <em>Teen Wolf<\/em>). Under the agreement, Antosca will develop and produce scripted programming with UCP for the NBCUniversal Cable Entertainment portfolio and for external networks and streaming services.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;<em>Channel Zero<\/em> certainly hit a nerve with <em>Candle Cove<\/em>,&#8221; said Chris McCumber, the president of\u00a0USA and Syfy. &#8220;We look forward to creeping everyone out again this fall with <em>No-End House<\/em>\u2014and can&#8217;t wait to see what nightmares Nick has in store for the future.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Nick delivered a truly haunting and unpredictable first installment of\u00a0<em>Channel Zero<\/em> and was embraced by fans and critics alike,&#8221; said Jeff Wachtel, the president and chief content officer at NBCUniversal Cable Entertainment. &#8220;He is a fresh, passionate talent with a unique vision\u2014precisely what we strive to cultivate here at UCP. We&#8217;re fortunate to have him in the family and look forward to developing new projects together.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Making\u00a0<em>Channel Zero<\/em>&#8216;s\u00a0<em>Candle Cove<\/em> and\u00a0<em>No-End House<\/em> has been a terrific experience,&#8221; said Antosca. &#8220;Universal Cable Productions and Syfy gave us a unique space to adapt weird cult horror stories and showcase some of the most talented independent directors out there.
