Coming to U.S. Screens"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>MIAMI: The Spanish-language U.S. network Pasiones has licensed the rights for the Turkish series <em>Medcezir<\/em>, based on the American original <em>The O.C.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Medcezir<\/em>\u00a0made its U.S. debut on February 6 at 7 p.m. and will run Mondays through Fridays. The series tells the story of a smart but troubled teen who is taken in from the streets by an affluent lawyer and his wife. He immediately bonds with their nerdy son, who strives to win the heart of his lifelong crush. Acquired from Warner Bros. International Television, the drama features a cast of Turkish stars that includes \u00c7a\u011fatay Ulusoy, Serenay Sar\u0131kaya and Bar\u0131\u015f Falay, among others.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cGood story lines transcend borders,\u201d said Francisco Gimenez, the general manager of cable networks for Hemisphere Media Group, Pasiones\u2019 parent company. \u201cTurkish novelas have gained a wide following among Latin American telenovela watchers, reinforcing the growing demand for fresh novela content from across the globe.
