LONDON: Ten actors have been selected through Channel 4 and TriForce Creative Network\u2019s MonologueSlam UK initiative and will be championed by Channel 4 Drama.<\/p>\n
The\u00a0MonologueSlam UK\u00a0showcase gives actors across the country a chance to perform in front of a panel of industry judges, including the Channel 4 Drama commissioning team. The most promising talent from 2016 was invited to the national final on December 12,\u00a0and Channel 4 then selected the top ten. The companies have committed to explore ways to champion the winning actors\u2019 careers with Channel 4 Drama.<\/p>\n
The ten selected actors are\u00a0Hannah Margaret\u00a0from Leeds, who was also crowned National MonologueSlam UK Champion 2016; Adaya Henry\u00a0and\u00a0Joanna Gay, winners of the Birmingham heats; Frances Pooley, the Leicester winner; Winston Sarpong, winner of the Essex MonologueSlam; and\u00a0Connor Mills,\u00a0Maia Watkins,\u00a0Richard Rowe-McGhie,\u00a0Debra Baker\u00a0and\u00a0Kayla Meikle\u00a0from London.<\/p>\n
Previous talent uncovered by the event includes\u00a0Chizzy Akudolu, who went on to star in\u00a0Holby City<\/em>\u00a0as well as\u00a0Sorry, I Didn\u2019t Know<\/em>, a\u00a0comedy panel show produced by TriForce Productions.<\/p>\n Fraser Ayres,\u00a0co-founder of TriForce Creative Network, said: \u201cWe are very excited with Channel 4\u2019s commitment to this fantastic group of actors. We\u2019ve seen them develop through the MonologueSlam UK initiative over 2016 and we know they\u2019re ready for this opportunity.
