Each of the eight episodes of the psychological drama represents one of the final days before it reaches the impact zone, which is in the middle of Europe. The series will be directed by Academy Award winner Stefan Ruzowitzky (<em>The Counterfeiters<\/em>), Philipp Leinemann (<em>We Were Kings<\/em>, <em>Temple<\/em>) and Michael Krummenacher (<em>Wonderland<\/em>).<\/p>\n<p><em>Eight Days<\/em> is slated to begin production midway through next year, with exclusive broadcasting on Sky in Germany and Austria planned for 2018. The series is being produced in collaboration with the Munich-based producer NEUESUPER.<\/p>\n<p>Frank Jastfelder, the director of drama production at Sky Deutschland, said: \u201cWe were immediately excited about the concept for <em>Eight Days<\/em> because everyone immediately asked themselves the same question: How would I react in such a situation? In response to this question, <em>Eight Days<\/em> delivers emotional, always surprising and highly dramatic answers\u2014and steers clear of all the Hollywood cliche\u0301s.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>NEUESUPER&#8217;s Rafael Parente commented: \u201cNEUESUPER is committed to new television.
