{"id":7051,"date":"2016-12-02T10:29:55","date_gmt":"2016-12-02T15:29:55","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/worldscreen.com\/tvdrama\/sam-worthington-signs-on-for-manifesto\/"},"modified":"2016-12-02T10:29:55","modified_gmt":"2016-12-02T15:29:55","slug":"sam-worthington-signs-on-for-manifesto","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/worldscreen.com\/tvdrama\/sam-worthington-signs-on-for-manifesto\/","title":{"rendered":"Sam Worthington Signs On for Manifesto"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>LOS ANGELES: Sam Worthington (<em>Hacksaw Ridge<\/em>, <em>Avatar<\/em>) has been cast in Discovery Channel&#8217;s scripted series <em>Manifesto<\/em>, set to air in 2017.<\/p>\n<p>The series, produced by Lionsgate and Trigger Street Productions, will tell the story of the FBI&#8217;s takedown of Ted Kaczynski, known as the &#8220;Unabomber.&#8221; Marking his first major leading role on U.S. television, Worthington will portray FBI Agent Jim &#8220;Fitz&#8221; Fitzgerald, whose radical new approach to intelligence gathering ultimately took Kaczynski down.<\/p>\n<p>Paul Bettany was previously announced to play Kaczynski in the series, which is from Kevin Spacey and Dana Brunetti&#8217;s Trigger Street and writer Andrew Sodroski (<em>Holland, Michigan<\/em>).
