He has been an\u00a0executive producer on\u00a0<em>Holby City<\/em> and <em>Casualty<\/em> since 2013 and has worked in various production roles since joining the BBC in 1996, including on <em>EastEnders<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>Kent will report into Nick Betts, the director of scripted at BBC Studios. Betts commented: \u201cI\u2019m delighted to have someone with Ollie&#8217;s editorial and managerial experience in this newly created role. BBC Studios\u2019 multi-award-winning continuing drama brings audiences of more than 8 million together every day and is a crucial part of BBC Studios\u2019 creative offering, continually pushing the boundaries editorially and technically.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Kent said: \u201cContinuing drama is the lifeblood of the drama industry and a power-house of new diverse creative talent and writing.
