The series, set to launch on CBS\u2019s VOD service in February, stars Christine Baranski and Cush Jumbo and picks up a year after <em>The Good Wife<\/em>\u2019s ending. (Asked by an audience member if there was a happy ending for Julianna Margulies\u2019 Alicia Florrick, Robert King said that she does end up with Jeffrey Dean Morgan\u2019s Jason Crouse.)<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Trump cultural shift really gives a strong rationale for the show,\u201d Robert King said. \u201cIt\u2019s not <em>Good Wife<\/em>. It\u2019s so not <em>Good Wife<\/em>. And it\u2019ll address all the cultural shifts that have come about because of not just Trump as a president but also the possible acceptance of a cruder culture.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Asked if they saw themselves as being \u201cpolitical,\u201d Michelle King responded, \u201cI suppose\u2014here\u2019s what I will say. The thing I am most proud of about <em>The Good Wife<\/em> is that people who felt completely differently [enjoyed the show]. Rush Limbaugh was a big fan and Gloria Steinem and Michael Moore were big fans.
