LONDON: Amazon and UFA Fiction have revealed that Deutschland 86<\/em>, the second installment of the hit drama series Deutschland 83<\/em>, is due to debut exclusively on Amazon Prime Video in Germany in 2018.<\/p>\n

Filming on Deutschland 86<\/em> is slated to kick off next year. RTL Television, which commissioned Deutschland 83<\/em> in 2014 and aired the first season last year, signed a\u00a0first-look option for the linear TV rights and is set\u00a0to premiere\u00a0the sophomore season\u00a0on German free-to-air television in 2018\/2019 after Amazon\u2019s first window.<\/p>\n

Deutschland 86<\/em> will debut in the U.S. on SundanceTV, which will continue as co-production partner, followed by Hulu (U.S.), Channel 4 and Walter Presents (U.K.), Sundance Channel (Canada), Crave (Canada), Super Ecran (French-speaking Canada), DR (Denmark), YLE (Finland), NRK (Norway), SVT (Sweden), RUV (Iceland), CMore (Scandinavia), RTE (Eire), Canal+ (France), Movistar+ (Spain), Sky Italia (Italy), Paramount (Italy), OTE (Greece), Telenet (Belgium), RTL Klub (Hungary), HRT (Croatia), Hotvision (Israel) and Sinema TV (Turkey), with more deals to be announced.<\/p>\n

All episodes of Deutschland 83<\/em> are now available for streaming for Prime members in Germany and Austria.\u00a0The thriller\u00a0is created by Anna Winger and J\u00f6rg Winger. It is distributed by FremantleMedia International.<\/p>\n
