Scripted, a conference and market dedicated to the business of scripted entertainment, is returning to the Park Central Hotel for a second run on November 17 and 18.<\/em><\/p>\n

Last year was the first edition of Scripted. The event, held in New York City, saw a number of top-level executives sharing their points of view on the changes in the industry, among other topics.<\/p>\n

\u201cFeedback on last year\u2019s content was overwhelmingly positive, with the strongest desire from both delegates and the advisory board being to introduce more case studies, exploring how hit programs were created and developed,\u201d says Claire Macdonald, executive producer of Scripted. Responding to the feedback, this year\u2019s agenda features in-depth case studies on\u00a0The Night Manager<\/em>,\u00a0The Americans<\/em>\u00a0and\u00a0The Collection<\/em>.<\/p>\n

On Thursday, November 17, delegates will have the chance to attend \u201c30 Minutes With\u201d sessions featuring CBS\u2019s Christina Davis, HBO\u2019s Francesca Orsi, Lifetime\u2019s Joanna Klein and FX Networks\u2019 Nicole Clemens, among others. The keynote conversation that day is with Robert and Michelle King, creators of\u00a0The Good Wife<\/em>\u00a0who have now turned their attention to CBS\u2019s\u00a0BrainDead<\/em>.<\/p>\n

On Friday, November 18, \u201c30 Minutes With\u201d participants will include DR\u2019s Piv Bernth, NBC\u2019s Quinn Taylor and Amazon Studios\u2019 Morgan Wandell. Super-producer Greg Berlanti, whose long list of credits include The CW\u2019s\u00a0Arrow<\/em>,\u00a0The Flash<\/em>,\u00a0Legends of Tomorrow<\/em>\u00a0and\u00a0Supergirl<\/em>, will deliver a keynote, as will Eric Schrier, the president of original programming at FX Networks and FX Productions, who will talk about creativity, risk-taking and connecting with consumers with breakthrough shows in today\u2019s \u201cpeak TV\u201d landscape.<\/p>\n

\u201cIn addition to case studies, we have updated our networking sessions to feature high-level producers as well as network executives at \u2018Luncheon Roundtables,\u2019 allowing delegates unrivaled access to some of the most influential executives in the business of scripted entertainment,\u201d Macdonald says. \u201cAlso, in our \u2018Meet a Mentor\u2019 sessions, featured mentors will focus on topics that will aid producers with their own productions, including valuable knowledge on pitching, development and establishing strategic partnerships.\u201d<\/p>\n

Among the various panels taking place over the course of the two-day event are \u201cGoing Glocal,\u201d touching on the topic of content that resonates internationally; \u201cDigital Storytelling and Cracking the Youth Code,\u201d about how to connect with millennial and Gen Z viewers; \u201cChanges in Dealmaking: Navigating New Business Models,\u201d focusing on the increasingly complex rights-negotiations taking place; and \u201cBased-On: Inspired Content,\u201d spotlighting the spate of true-life stories, movies and books being remade for the small screen.<\/p>\n
