TEL AVIV: Keshet International (KI) has picked up the global distribution rights for the Croatian crime drama The Paper<\/em>.<\/p>\n

The 12×50-minute series is produced by Drugi Plan and will soon air on HTV1. It touches on themes such as political corruption, power struggles, crime and betrayal. Keshet International will be offering the drama as a finished subtitled series and scripted format for buyers at MIPCOM.<\/p>\n

Sebastian Burkhardt, the head of acquisitions at Keshet International, said, \u201cWe came across The Paper<\/em> at NEM and were extremely impressed by the quality of the production. Everything from the storytelling, to the directing and the cast leads it to be very timely and universal. With the current opportunities out there for non-English-speaking series, and our experience with them, we are confident that The Paper<\/em> will find its audience outside of Croatia.\u201d<\/p>\n

Creator and producer of The Paper<\/em>, Nebojsa Taraba, said, “Through this collaboration with Keshet International, we truly feel as though we have found a common artistic tongue and that our project has\u2014in many ways\u2014come home.
