{"id":6640,"date":"2016-09-08T10:00:45","date_gmt":"2016-09-08T14:00:45","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/worldscreen.com\/tvdrama\/bbc-bringing-back-red-rock\/"},"modified":"2016-09-08T13:27:11","modified_gmt":"2016-09-08T17:27:11","slug":"bbc-bringing-back-red-rock","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/worldscreen.com\/tvdrama\/bbc-bringing-back-red-rock\/","title":{"rendered":"BBC Bringing Back Red Rock"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>LONDON: The second season of the Irish drama <em>Red Rock<\/em> has been picked up by the BBC.<\/p>\n<p>Season one wrapped up on BBC One last week, and season two will air to U.K. audiences next year. <em>Red Rock<\/em> originally launched on TV3 in Ireland and was sold into the U.K. by all3media International. The series is also available in the U.S. after having been licensed by Amazon Prime.<\/p>\n<p>Dan McGolpin, the controller of BBC Daytime, said: \u201cI\u2019m delighted that <em>Red Rock<\/em> has gone down so well with our audience and very pleased to say that it will return to BBC Daytime next year.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Pat Kiely, TV3&#8217;s group managing director, said: \u201cThe decision by the BBC to acquire <em>Red Rock<\/em> for another season is a huge vote of confidence in the show and in TV3. It is also great recognition for the hugely talented production team, cast and crew.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>John Yorke, executive producer of <em>Red Rock<\/em>, said: \u201cLaunching a brand-new soap in this day and age requires a huge amount of bravery from any broadcaster, so we\u2019ve been thrilled by how the BBC have gotten so behind us, and that it\u2019s gone down so well. There are loads of twists and turns to come, so we can\u2019t wait for British audiences to join us again next year.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Stephen Driscoll, the executive VP for EMEA at all3media International, said: \u201call3media International is delighted that BBC daytime viewers have become so quickly enthralled by the Henneseys and Kielys of <em>Red Rock<\/em> and extend our thanks to the BBC daytime team for giving the series their support.
