LONDON: ITV has commissioned a second season of Marcella<\/em>, starring Anna Friel, from writer Hans Rosenfeldt and Buccaneer Media.<\/p>\n

Marcella<\/em> is billed as a Scandinavian noir set on the streets of Britain. Rosenfeldt created the series following the global success of The Bridge<\/em>. The new 8×1-hour season has been slated to launch in 2017.<\/p>\n

Rosenfeldt commented: \u201cI was delighted at the reaction to the first season and am thrilled to be revisiting Marcella<\/em> for ITV. In the second season, the audience will get the opportunity to spend more time in her world, further exploring some of the characters and getting to know them better.\u201d<\/p>\n

Executive Producer Tony Wood added: \u201cThe combination of Hans\u2019s masterful writing, Anna\u2019s gripping performance and Buccaneer\u2019s superb production team struck a chord with viewers. Naturally we\u2019re delighted to be working with ITV to create a second season of Marcella<\/em>.\u201d<\/p>\n
