The show will be set in Leeds.<\/p>\n<p>Mellor has a string of hit dramas to her credit, including <em>Between the Sheets<\/em>, <em>Strictly Confidential<\/em>, <em>The Syndicate<\/em>, <em>A Passionate Woman<\/em> and <em>In the Club<\/em>. She also worked on the U.S. version of <em>The Syndicate<\/em>, <em>Lucky 7<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>Mellor said: \u201cI\u2019m delighted to be doing a new series for the BBC. This has been cooking in my brain for quite a while and it feels like the right time to put it on the screen. The idea came to me when I was registering my mother\u2019s death at Leeds Town Hall, closely followed by a friend\u2019s wedding in the very same place. I remembered registering the birth of both of my daughters there too, and I realized that the Register Office and registrars really are at the very heart of life. It\u2019s a place of laughter, tears and great drama.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Of course I\u2019d love to do another series of <em>In the Club<\/em> and<em> The Syndicate<\/em>, but they are on hold for now. It\u2019s lovely to be working on a fresh idea and I\u2019ve got all the support from the BBC.
