LONDON: Filming has begun in Corfu on the second season of the ITV family drama The Durrells<\/em>.<\/p>\n

The 6×1-hour second season will see Keeley Hawes reprise her role as Louisa Durrell. Josh O\u2019Connor returns as Larry, joined by Callum Woodhouse as Leslie, Daisy Waterstone as Margo and Milo Parker as Gerry. Daniel Lapaine will join the cast as Hugh Jarvis, an English gentleman who sets his sights on Louisa.<\/p>\n

The first season of The Durrells<\/em> achieved a peak audience of 8.2 million viewers\/a 33-percent share of viewing and averaged 6.9 million viewers across its run, making it ITV’s highest rating new drama series of 2016. The show is produced by Sid Gentle Films.<\/p>\n

ITV\u2019s controller of drama, Victoria Fea, said, \u201cWe loved The Durrells<\/em> from the moment the idea was pitched to us and it became even more magical when it was brought to screen. It was a very easy decision to commission a second series of this warm and enchanting drama.\u201d<\/p>\n

Sally Woodward-Gentle, CEO at Sid Gentle Films, said, \u201cWe absolutely loved making the first series of The Durrells<\/em> and were overjoyed with the response from viewers when it was broadcast on ITV.
