{"id":6443,"date":"2016-07-25T10:50:00","date_gmt":"2016-07-25T14:50:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/worldscreen.com\/tvdrama\/cutting-it-creator-scores-bbc-one-commission\/"},"modified":"2016-07-25T13:09:52","modified_gmt":"2016-07-25T17:09:52","slug":"cutting-it-creator-scores-bbc-one-commission","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/worldscreen.com\/tvdrama\/cutting-it-creator-scores-bbc-one-commission\/","title":{"rendered":"Cutting It Creator Scores BBC One Commission"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>LONDON: BBC One has commissioned <em>Age Before Beauty<\/em>, a new contemporary drama set in a Manchester beauty salon, from Mainstreet Pictures and scribe Debbie Horsfield.<\/p>\n<p>Debbie Horsfield created <em>Cutting It<\/em> and is the screenwriter on <em>Poldark<\/em>. <em>Age Before Beauty<\/em> focuses on the cast of characters behind a failing beauty salon in Manchester and explores such themes as fear of aging and the quest to stay young.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m thrilled to be working with long-term colleagues Laura Mackie and Sally Haynes again,&#8221; said Horsfield. &#8220;This will be our first collaboration since <em>Cutting It<\/em>, and we&#8217;re looking forward to turning the spotlight on the subject of aging: growing older gracefully\u2014or disgracefully!\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Mainstreet Pictures&#8217; Laura Mackie added, &#8220;Debbie is writing at the top of her game and in <em>Age Before Beauty<\/em> she&#8217;s created a colorful and memorable set of characters and a story that examines our obsession with the aging process in an emotional, entertaining and surprising way.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Charlotte Moore, director of BBC Content, noted, \u201c<em>Age Before Beauty<\/em> has it all: a dysfunctional family, bitter rivalries and botox!
