The story centers on the search for a\u00a0serial killer and the local detective who is trying to cope with her first murder case.<\/p>\n<p>Laura Fraser (<em>Houdini and Doyle<\/em>, <em>The Missing<\/em>, <em>Peter &amp; Wendy<\/em>), Siobhan Finneran (<em>Happy Valley<\/em>, <em>Benidorm<\/em>, D<em>ownton Abbey<\/em>) and John Sessions (<em>Upstart Crow<\/em>, <em>Florence Foster Jenkins<\/em>, <em>The Rack Pack<\/em>) will star in leading roles. The project is being written by Stephen Brady (<em>Fortitude<\/em>, <em>Vera<\/em>, <em>Silent Witness<\/em>) and overseen by Tim Haines (<em>Beowulf<\/em>, <em>Primeval<\/em>, <em>Sinbad<\/em>), ITV Studios&#8217;s creative director for drama and executive producer. <em>Loch Ness<\/em> will be distributed internationally by ITV Studios Global Entertainment.<\/p>\n<p>Haines commented: \u201cSerial killers are monsters that lie beneath the surface of normal happy communities. Where better to hunt for one than in a place that has thrived off its own monster myth for centuries, Loch Ness.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>ITV\u2019s controller of drama, Victoria Fea, added:\u00a0\u201c<em>Loch Ness<\/em> is a gripping, tightly plotted drama which focuses on how a serial killer terrifies a local community. Stephen Brady\u2019s compelling scripts utilize the wilderness of Loch Ness perfectly.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Natalie Usher, the director for the screen sector at Creative Scotland, said: \u201cCreative Scotland is delighted to be working with ITV Studios on this thrilling murder mystery, set on the shores of Loch Ness.
