{"id":6164,"date":"2016-05-27T10:48:23","date_gmt":"2016-05-27T14:48:23","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/worldscreen.com\/tvdrama\/argentine-drama-perfidia-getting-u-k-remake\/"},"modified":"2016-05-27T10:56:30","modified_gmt":"2016-05-27T14:56:30","slug":"argentine-drama-perfidia-getting-u-k-remake","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/worldscreen.com\/tvdrama\/argentine-drama-perfidia-getting-u-k-remake\/","title":{"rendered":"Argentine Drama Perfidia Getting U.K. Remake"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>STOCKHOLM: Eccho Rights has signed a deal with DLT Entertainment for a U.K. adaptation of the Argentine drama <em>Perfidia<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>Margaret Enefer and Donald Taffner Jr. will develop the project, which will be adapted by British writer Alan Whiting (<em>Wire in the Blood<\/em>, <em>Half Broken Things<\/em>, <em>The Scarlet Pimpernel<\/em>) as a three-parter. <em>Perfidia<\/em>, originally produced by Cisne Films for Canal 7 in Argentina, follows a group of school friends who embark on a business deal that promises huge gains, but has high stakes. Friendships are tested, as jealousy, greed and betrayal put their futures at risk.<\/p>\n<p>DLT\u2019s president, Don Taffner Jr., commented, \u201c<em>Perfidia<\/em> gripped me right from the start with its combination evocative human emotion, thrilling plot and unexpected twists and turns. With Alan\u2019s exceptional talent, this will be an unmissable piece of television.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He added, \u201cThis latest development deal is part of DLT Entertainment\u2019s ongoing strategy to bring fresh new formats and ideas to the U.K. market as we look to develop and invest in our growing drama slate spearheaded by Margaret Enefer.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Nicola S\u00f6derlund, the\u00a0managing partner at Eccho Rights, said, \u201cWe\u2019ve been selling a lot of shows into Latin America, so it\u2019s great to announce a deal that sees traffic in the other direction.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;It\u2019s a region that is traditionally known for the telenovela, but Latin America also has a growing reputation for high-end dramas.
