LONDON: IMG will be representing the international rights for BBC America’s new original scripted series Dirk Gently\u2019s Holistic Detective Agency<\/em>, debuting this fall.<\/p>\n

The eight-episode series is based on the comic novels of the same name by Douglas Adams (The Hitchhiker\u2019s Guide to the Galaxy<\/em>). It is a co-production between AMC Studios,\u00a0Ideate Media\u00a0and IDW Entertainment with Circle of Confusion producing. Samuel Barnett plays the title character, opposite Elijah Wood as Todd and Hannah Marks as the female lead Amanda.<\/p>\n

The show is written by Max Landis (Chronicle<\/em>) and Robert Cooper (Stargate Atlantis<\/em>, Stargate Universe<\/em>) is set as the series showrunner. Oscar-winning director Dean Parisot (Galaxy Quest<\/em>, Justified<\/em>, Masters of Sex<\/em>) will direct the series\u2019 first two episodes.<\/p>\n

Dirk Gently<\/em> is a comedic thriller that follows the bizarre adventures of eccentric \u201cholistic\u201d detective Dirk Gently and his reluctant assistant Todd, as they find their way through one big mystery a season.<\/p>\n
