NEW YORK: Syfy has greenlit a pilot of the Superman prequel Krypton<\/em>, from executive producer David S. Goyer and Warner Horizon Television.<\/p>\n

The drama will be set two generations before the destruction of the legendary hero’s home planet. Krypton <\/em>will follow Superman’s grandfather, whose House of El was ostracized and shamed, as he fights to redeem his family’s honor and save his beloved world from chaos. Goyer, known for his work on comics properties such as Man of Steel<\/em> and The Dark Knight<\/em> trilogy, will executive produce through his Phantom Four banner.<\/p>\n

Damian Kindler (Sleepy Hollow<\/em>) will serve as executive producer\/showrunner, with Colm McCarthy (Peaky Blinders<\/em>) set to direct and co-executive produce the pilot. Krypton<\/em> will be produced by Warner Horizon Television and is based on characters created by Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster, published by DC Comics.<\/p>\n
