ATLANTA: UP TV has acquired the off-network rights for the family drama Parenthood<\/em>, licensing 103 episodes in an agreement with NBCUniversal Television and New Media Distribution.<\/p>\n

From Ron Howard and Brian Grazer, and writer\/executive producer Jason Katims, Parenthood<\/em> originally ran for six seasons on NBC. The show now comes to U.S. cable, where it will premiere on May 30 with five episodes. It then settles into UP’s weekly schedule on Mondays, with three episodes from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m.<\/p>\n

“Parenthood<\/em> is one of the best shows ever created that celebrates the American family,” said Sophia Kelley, the senior VP of programming at UP. \u201cIt\u2019s centered on the love, heartbreak and humor that come with the most important relationships you will have in life\u2014your family. The Bravermans deal with real issues and are imperfect, which makes them relatable. They make mistakes and learn, but they\u2019re doing the best they can. They lose and find their way again.
