The story centers on\u00a0four women from different backgrounds, hired to be switchboard operators for the country\u2019s only telephone company in 1920s Spain.<\/p>\n<p>The series is produced by Madrid-based Bamb\u00fa Producciones, led by Ram\u00f3n Campos and Teresa Fern\u00e1ndez Vald\u00e9s, producers of <em>Gran Hotel<\/em> and <em>Velvet<\/em>, and co-created by Gema Neira. The first season will have 16 50-minute episodes.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt is incredibly exciting to have Netflix in Spain. We are enthusiastic fans of its original series and it is a real honor for us to now be part of this project,&#8221; said Campos, co-creator and executive producer of the show.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;It is a joy to work with Netflix\u2019s extremely talented team, who is revolutionizing the television industry worldwide,&#8221; added Fern\u00e1ndez Vald\u00e9s, executive producer of the series.<\/p>\n<p>Erik Barmack, the VP of international original series at Netflix, added, \u201cWe\u2019re delighted to be working with Bamb\u00fa Producciones, director Carlos Sedes and co-creator Gema Neira on our first original series filmed in Spain. We\u2019re huge fans of their work on <em>Gran Hotel<\/em> and <em>Velvet<\/em>, epic romances that have been embraced by our members around the world.
