LONDON: The new three-part drama Rillington Place<\/em>, commissioned by BBC One, is based on the real-life murders that took place in Notting Hill in the late 1940s\/early 1950s.<\/p>\n

The 3×1-hour serial is being made by BBC Drama Production in association with Bandit Television. It will focus on the true stories of murderer John Christie, his wife Ethel and their neighbor Timothy Evans, who all lived at the infamous address. The story will be told from each of their viewpoints.<\/p>\n

It is directed by Craig Viveiros (And Then There Were None<\/em>), written by Ed Whitmore (He Kills Coppers<\/em>) and Tracey Malone (Born To Kill<\/em>), and produced by Sharon Bloom (Silent Witness<\/em>). Filming will begin at the end of March at the BBC Scotland drama studios in Dumbarton.<\/p>\n

Phillippa Giles, the managing director of Bandit, said: \u201cThis has been a passion piece involving close relationships with the surviving family members which we have developed over several years\u2014it will be hugely emotional to start filming this painful story and finally bring it to screen.\u201d<\/p>\n

Hilary Salmon, the head of BBC Drama Production England, added: \u201cWe are thrilled to be bringing this iconic story to BBC One.
