The untitled drama was ordered by Apple TV and is based on <em>Metropolis<\/em> from Philip Kerr\u2019s book series <em>Berlin Noir<\/em>. It hails from Bad Wolf and Tom Hanks and Gary Goetzman\u2019s PlayTone.<\/p>\n<p>Studio Babelsberg serves as co-producer on the series in Germany, currently filming in Berlin. Jane Tranter, Dan McCulloch and Ryan Rasmussen executive produce for Bad Wolf, alongside Straughan. Tom Hanks and Gary Goetzman executive produce for PlayTone.<\/p>\n<p>The <em>Berlin Noir<\/em> book series features detective Bernie Gunther, and this adaptation begins with <em>Metropolis<\/em> and his origin story in 1928.
