{"id":24454,"date":"2026-02-24T14:30:18","date_gmt":"2026-02-24T19:30:18","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/worldscreen.com\/tvdrama\/worldscreen.com\/"},"modified":"2026-02-25T12:44:44","modified_gmt":"2026-02-25T17:44:44","slug":"fox-entertainment-studios-inks-first-look-deal-with-etan-frankel","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/worldscreen.com\/tvdrama\/fox-entertainment-studios-inks-first-look-deal-with-etan-frankel\/","title":{"rendered":"FOX Entertainment Studios Inks First-Look Deal with Etan Frankel"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>FOX Entertainment Studios has signed a first-look producing deal with writer and producer Etan Frankel (<em>Joe vs. Carole<\/em>, <em>Sorry for Your Loss<\/em>, <em>Shameless<\/em>, <em>Friday Night Lights<\/em>) to develop a slate of scripted projects.<\/p>\n<p>Under the new partnership, Frankel will work closely with FOX Entertainment Studios\u2019 leadership to create projects aligned with the studio\u2019s creative priorities, including premium drama, elevated genre storytelling and distinctive, creator-driven series with global appeal.<\/p>\n<p>Frankel is currently developing <em>PRISM<\/em> for Netflix, on which he is serving as showrunner and executive producer.<\/p>\n<p>Most recently, Frankel spent four years in an overall deal at Universal Content Productions, where he served as creator and showrunner of <em>Joe vs. Carole<\/em> for Peacock. Prior to that, he was showrunner and executive producer on <em>Sorry for Your Loss<\/em> and an executive producer on <em>Get Shorty<\/em>, <em>Animal Kingdom<\/em> and <em>Shameless<\/em>, where he wrote for seven seasons.
