{"id":23971,"date":"2025-12-04T11:46:04","date_gmt":"2025-12-04T16:46:04","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/worldscreen.com\/tvdrama\/cbs-orders-second-season-for-two-new-broadcast-series\/"},"modified":"2025-12-04T12:45:04","modified_gmt":"2025-12-04T17:45:04","slug":"cbs-orders-second-season-for-two-new-broadcast-series-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/worldscreen.com\/tvdrama\/cbs-orders-second-season-for-two-new-broadcast-series-2\/","title":{"rendered":"CBS Orders Second Seasons for Two New Broadcast Series"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>CBS has ordered second seasons of <em>Boston Blue<\/em> and Sheriff Country.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cTwo new shows on Friday night have become instant hits, with audiences quickly embracing <em>Boston Blue<\/em> and <em>Sheriff Country<\/em> across broadcast and streaming,\u201d said Amy Reisenbach, president of CBS Entertainment. \u201cThese early renewals reflect the power of character-driven storytelling, compelling narratives and the exceptional talent on both sides of the camera that make these series truly stand out.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><em>Boston Blue<\/em> averaged 8 million viewers and <em>Sheriff Country<\/em> averaged 7.6 million viewers in Nielsen live plus 7-day multiplatform ratings.<\/p>\n<p><em>Boston Blue<\/em> follows former NYPD Detective Danny Reagan as he joins the Boston Police Department and partners with Detective Lena Silver.<\/p>\n<p>The series stars Donnie Wahlberg, Sonequa Martin-Green, Gloria Reuben, Maggie Lawson, Marcus Scribner, Mika Amonsen and Ernie Hudson.<\/p>\n<p>Executive producers are Brandon Sonnier, Brandon Margolis, Wahlberg, Jerry Bruckheimer and KristieAnne Reed for Jerry Bruckheimer Television.<\/p>\n<p>Set in small-town Edgewater, California, <em>Sheriff Country<\/em> follows Sheriff Mickey Fox as she investigates criminal activity while navigating complex family dynamics.<\/p>\n<p><em>Sheriff County<\/em> stars Morena Baccarin, Matt Lauria, W.
