Leslie Bibb (The White Lotus<\/em>, Palm Royale<\/em>, Juror #2<\/em>) has signed on to star in the lead role of the six-part Cold War crime series Top of the Rock<\/em>.<\/p>\n

Created by Dav\u00ed\u00f0 \u00d3skar \u00d3lafsson (The Valhalla Murders<\/em>, Trom<\/em>) and J\u00f3n Atli J\u00f3nasson (Arctic Circle<\/em>, The Deep<\/em>) and co-created by Ragnar J\u00f3nsson (Black Sands<\/em>), the series is being produced by Truenorth, Mystery Productions and Vertu.<\/p>\n

Set in 1983, the series follows Captain Diane Goodmann, a U.S. Military Police investigator, and MP Sarah Ellis, both stationed at the NATO base in Keflav\u00edk. When an American soldier is found dead under suspicious circumstances outside the base, Goodman and Ellis are forced to work closely with Icelandic police. They uncover a web of espionage, betrayal and political deceit.<\/p>\n

The production is being developed and financed by Truenorth, Mystery Productions and Vertu, with Enderby Entertainment, Baradal\/Fr\u00e9d\u00e9ric Pittoors d\u2019Haveskercke and Lumi\u00e8re as key partners.<\/p>\n

\u201cOur story unfolds during a pivotal year when opposition to the NATO base in Keflav\u00edk reached its peak and the fragile balance between the superpowers teetered on the edge of nuclear conflict,\u201d said \u00d3lafsson and J\u00f3nasson. \u201cAgainst this volatile backdrop, our protagonists must navigate a perilous world of betrayal and secrets as they struggle to uncover what lies beneath the surface of Cold War tensions. Reconceptualizing this period for the modern audience with a powerful female protagonist was only natural. Leslie Bibb is one of the most exciting actors of the moment; she will bring immense thought and care, as well as her usual levity, to the role of Goodman.\u201d<\/p>\n
