ITV has greenlit a five-part adaptation of Elizabeth Day\u2019s novel The Party<\/em>, with Luke Evans (Nine Perfect Strangers<\/em>, Murder Mystery<\/em>) on board to star and executive produce.<\/p>\n

The drama, produced by World Productions in association with Stoic Productions and ITV Studios, is written by Sarah Solemani (Chivalry<\/em>, Ridley Road<\/em>, Barry<\/em>), who also stars. The cast additionally features Tom Cullen (The Gold<\/em>, Trespasses<\/em>), Joanna Scanlan (After Love<\/em>, Riot Women<\/em>), Lydia Leonard (Ten Percent<\/em>, Gentleman Jack<\/em>) and more.<\/p>\n

Others in the cast are Lindsay Duncan (The Morning Show<\/em>, H is for Hawk<\/em>, His Dark Materials<\/em>), Douglas Hodge (We Live in Time<\/em>, Pillion<\/em>, The Night Manager<\/em>), Sam Troughton (Lockerbie: A Search for Truth<\/em>, Mank<\/em>, Chernobyl<\/em>), Sally Scott (Crow Girl<\/em>, Black Doves<\/em>, The Tower<\/em>), Sin\u00e9ad Matthews (Down Cemetery Road<\/em>, Hullraisers<\/em>, The Crown<\/em>), Bally Gill (Slow Horses<\/em>, Interview With The Vampire<\/em>), Amaka Okafor (Secret Service<\/em>, Black Rabbit<\/em>, Bodies<\/em>) and Rakie Ayola (Falling<\/em>, The Pact 2<\/em>, Grace<\/em>).<\/p>\n

Viviane Andereggen (Nine Bodies in a Mexican Morgue<\/em>, Kleo<\/em>) is directing the adaptation, with Richard Burrell (Nine Bodies in a Mexican Morgue<\/em>, All Creatures Great and Small<\/em>) producing.<\/p>\n

The Party<\/em> centers on journalist Martin Gilmour, who has been shaped by his lifelong friendship with the wealthy and charismatic politician Ben Fitzmaurice. The drama explores identity, privilege and devotion.<\/p>\n

It will air on ITV1 and STV and be available for streaming on ITVX and STV Player.<\/p>\n
