MGM+ has greenlit Bosch: Start of Watch<\/em>, a prequel to the Bosch<\/em> detective franchise starring Cameron Monaghan (Shameless<\/em>, Gotham<\/em>) and Omari Hardwick (Star Trek: Section 31<\/em>, Army of the Dead<\/em>).<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are thrilled to expand the Bosch<\/em> universe with this compelling origin story that showcases how one of television\u2019s most beloved detectives became the man we know today,\u201d said Michael Wright, head of MGM+. \u201cWith Cameron Monaghan and Omari Hardwick bringing these complex characters to life and the creative vision of Michael Connelly and our talented executive producers, Bosch: Start of Watch<\/em> promises to deliver the gritty, authentic storytelling that honors the franchise\u2019s legacy while opening an exciting new chapter.\u201d<\/p>\n

Based on Michael Connelly’s best-selling book series, Bosch: Start of Watch<\/em> goes back to 1991 Los Angeles and follows 26-year-old Harry Bosch during his earliest days as a rookie cop. The series explores a city on the edge, teeming with racial tension, gang violence and a fractured LAPD.<\/p>\n

Fabel Entertainment is producing the series. It is co-created and executive produced by Tom Bernardo and Brian Anthony, with Bernardo serving as showrunner. Connelly, Henrik Bastin, Jamie Boscardin Martin, and Jasmine Russ also serve as executive producers. Theresa Snider serves as co-executive producer for Hieronymus Pictures.<\/p>\n

Production is set to begin on Bosch: Start of Watch<\/em> in Los Angeles in 2026.<\/p>\n
