Prime Video has renewed the Bosch<\/em> spin-off Ballard<\/em> for a second season, with Maggie Q reprising her role as Detective Ren\u00e9e Ballard.<\/p>\n \u201cWe are excited to share that the Bosch<\/em> universe will continue to expand with a second season of Ballard<\/em> for our global Prime Video customers,\u201d said Lauren Lancaster, head of U.S. SVOD TV development, series and co-productions for Amazon MGM Studios. \u201cThe audience response to Ballard<\/em> has been phenomenal, resonating with audiences worldwide thanks to its gripping storytelling and outstanding performances from Maggie Q and the entire cast. We can\u2019t wait for fans to experience everything season two has in store.\u201d<\/p>\n Based on Michael Connelly\u2019s best-selling novels featuring LAPD Detective Ren\u00e9e Ballard, the series follows the titular officer as she fights to earn respect in the ranks of the Cold Case Unit.<\/p>\n \u201cWe\u2019re so grateful to have the chance to continue Ballard<\/em>\u2019s story,\u201d commented Michael Alaimo and Kendall Sherwood, co-showrunners and executive producers. \u201cIt\u2019s a pleasure to dive deeper into these characters and this world, and seeing audiences resonate with their stories is incredibly rewarding.
