{"id":23472,"date":"2025-09-24T10:05:20","date_gmt":"2025-09-24T14:05:20","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/worldscreen.com\/tvdrama\/paramount-renews-the-crow-girl\/"},"modified":"2025-09-24T10:11:58","modified_gmt":"2025-09-24T14:11:58","slug":"paramount-renews-the-crow-girl","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/worldscreen.com\/tvdrama\/paramount-renews-the-crow-girl\/","title":{"rendered":"Paramount+ Renews The Crow Girl"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Paramount+ in the U.K. and Ireland has ordered a second season of <em>The Crow Girl<\/em> from Buccaneer Media.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019re delighted to be continuing our partnership with Buccaneer on <em>The Crow Girl<\/em>,\u201d said Sebastian Cardwell, deputy chief content officer for the U.K. at Paramount. \u201cThe first season captivated audiences with its bold storytelling and standout performances, and we can\u2019t wait to see where the team takes the story next.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Season two will pick up the morning after the events of season one, with Bristol police detective Jeanette Kilburn having ended her marriage and found herself in bed with psychologist Dr. Sophia Craven. Jeanette\u2019s hunt for the killers of young male asylum seekers takes a turn when a mummified body is discovered in a church wall and a body in a freezer reveals a connection. Sophia begins to suspect a mysterious and unstable former patient.<\/p>\n<p>Eve Myles (<em>Hijack<\/em>,<em> Keeping Faith<\/em>), Katherine Kelly (<em>Mr Bates vs The Post Office<\/em>, <em>The Long Shadow<\/em>), Clara Rugaard (<em>Black Mirror<\/em>, <em>The Rising<\/em>) and Victoria Hamilton (<em>The Crown<\/em>, <em>COBRA<\/em>) are among the returning cast members.<\/p>\n<p>Executive producers include Buccaneer\u2019s CEO Tony Wood, screenwriter Milly Thomas, Slash, Myles, Federico Ambrosini, Niclas Salomonsson and Erik Axl Sund. Charles Martin is confirmed to direct, and Debs Pisani is producing.<\/p>\n<p>The second season of <em>The Crow Girl<\/em> is produced in association with and distributed by ITV Studios. Filming is set to begin in Bristol this year.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe opportunity to return to the world of DCI Jeanette, Sophia and Victoria is a real thrill; it\u2019s a drama that stretches character and bends time,\u201d said Wood. \u201cI\u2019m absolutely delighted to be back.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Thomas commented, \u201cI couldn&#8217;t be more thrilled to jump back into the world of <em>The Crow Girl<\/em>.
