U&Dave has lined up its first original drama series, the crime thriller Hit Point<\/em>, produced by Urban Myth Films and written by Howard Overman (Misfits<\/em>, War of the Worlds<\/em>).<\/p>\n

\u201cHit Point<\/em> is a cop show like no other,\u201d said Helen Perry, head of drama commissioning for UKTV. \u201cWith his singular voice, Howard has crafted a tense crime thriller that\u2019s driven by a characterful \u2018will they, won\u2019t they\u2019 romance. It\u2019s a distinctive genre mash-up, full of heart, humor and action-packed sequences. It\u2019s the perfect first scripted drama commission for U&Dave and U and a marker of our ambition for drama on the channel.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are all excited at Urban Myth Films to be teaming up with UKTV on Hit Point<\/em>,\u201d Overman commented. \u201cIt\u2019s been a joy to create a show that blends high-octane thrills with heart, humor and a love story at its core. Co-financed by CANAL+, with STUDIOCANAL handling worldwide distribution, the series follows 30-something detectives Leo and Bella as their latest case pulls them into a dangerous West London underworld. The lines between their personal and professional lives blur with every twist and betrayal of the case.<\/p>\n

With David Caffrey (The Gentlemen<\/em>, Peaky Blinders<\/em>) directing, Hit Point<\/em> is set to begin filming next month. Cast information will be forthcoming. The series will air on U and U&Dave next year.<\/p>\n
