Medyapim’s Arabic-language adaptation of Nippon TV\u2019s Woman -My Life for My Children-<\/em> is set to land in the Middle East and North Africa on August 17 on MBC1 and Shahid.<\/p>\n

Salma <\/em>encompasses 90 episodes and is Medyapim’s third drama series for MBC following adaptations of BBC Studios\u2019 Doctor Foster<\/em> and the Turkish drama War of the Roses<\/em>.<\/p>\n

Woman -My Life for My Children-<\/em> was penned by Yuji Sakamoto and produced by Hisashi Tsugiya, following the plight of a single mother\u2019s unconditional love for her children. Medyapim has already adapted the format for Turkey, with Kadin<\/em> running for three seasons and sold to more than 60 markets.<\/p>\n

Keisuke Miyata, scripted format licensing at Nippon TV, noted: \u201cThe heartfelt story penned by Yuji Sakamoto and produced by Nippon TV has already reached the hearts of audiences in an astonishing 60-plus\u00a0 countries through the superb adaptation by Turkey\u2019s Medyapim. This time, we look forward that our story will reach deep into the souls of the Arabic audience through Salma<\/em>. Salma’s struggle to survive and to forge a path for herself as a woman amidst all odds and many tribulations will surely pull viewers deep into her life story that ultimately leads her to happiness because she followed the voice of her heart.\u201d<\/p>\n

Fatih Aksoy, chairman of Medyapim, added: \u201cWhen I first adapted Nippon TV\u2019s drama Woman<\/em>\u00a0in Turkey, it was my mother who inspired me at every step. In her strength, I saw the quiet resilience shared by millions of women like the one at the heart of this story. My mother was a Turkish woman of Arab descent. And now, to have brought this series to life once more in my mother\u2019s native language is profoundly exciting for me.\u201d<\/p>\n
