ITV has commissioned a new drama titled The Blame<\/em> from Quay Street Productions, starring Michelle Keegan and Douglas Booth.<\/p>\n

The six-part drama will also star Ian Hart, Nathan Mensah, Nigel Boyle, Joe Armstrong, Matilda Freeman, Gavin Spokes, Josh Bolt and Ceallach Spellman<\/p>\n

The Blame<\/em> is based on the debut novel of the same name by Charlotte Langley.<\/p>\n

The series begins when the body of teenage figure skater Sophie Madsen is discovered, sending shockwaves through the town of Wakestead. As DI Crane (Keegan) and DI Radley (Booth) dig deeper, what starts as a tragic death spirals into a tangled web of lies, institutional cover-ups and moral compromise.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Blame<\/em> is a brilliant new crime thriller full of surprising twists and a compelling investigation that also cleverly tackles police corruption, exploitation and misogyny as the thriller unravels,\u201d commented Polly Hill, ITV\u2019s director of drama and executive producer, \u201cMegan is such a wonderful and clever writer, and with Michelle Keegan in the lead and Nicola Shindler at the helm, this is going to be an unmissable drama and one I\u2019m very proud to have on ITV.\u201d<\/p>\n

We are also thrilled at the brilliant cast led by Michelle and Douglas, who will keep viewers on the edge of their seats, wondering who to trust at a time when the themes explored in The Blame<\/em> are more relevant than ever.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Blame<\/em> is such an important and urgent story to tell; I\u2019m so grateful to have had the opportunity to bring Charlotte Langley\u2019s world and characters to life on screen,\u201d said lead writer and executive producer Megan Gallagher. \u201cIt\u2019s my second collaboration with Quay Street Productions, and it\u2019s great to be working with the team again\u2014I\u2019m truly in the best hands.\u201d<\/p>\n

Matt Strevens is the series producer, with Sara Huxley as co-producer. Bex Rycroft will be the director for episodes one to three, and Claire Tailyour for episodes four to six.<\/p>\n
